Want to help but just not sure what you would like to do? Here are some brief descriptions of some of our roles here at the rescue!

Intake

Routinely monitors the rescue’s surrender email for any new surrender applications.  If the rescue is bringing in dogs, person in intake calls and speaks to the owner.  Intake is then responsible for reaching out to the board for approval. Intake works closely with marketing (for courtesy posts), and foster and medical. Also ensures proper documentation is filled out on the dog and enters information into Petstablished.

Adoption

The adoption team is responsible for screening any adoption applications that come through.  The team needs to call the applicant, screen vet records, set up a home check for the applicant, and work with the foster team to set up a meet and greet if needed.  A bit of organization and enjoying talking with the public is needed.

Foster

The foster team is in charge of screening new foster applicants.  They are also in charge of ensuring any dogs in the rescue that need temporary homes end up in the foster homes that suit their needs best.  The foster team also reaches out to any fosters currently with one of our dogs to ensure things are going well, and to confirm they are good on supplies. The foster team works closely with the medical team. This is mainly a hands off (the dogs) position, and requires a bit of organization via a computer.

Marketing

Marketing requires a decent amount of computer knowledge and a lot of creativity.  Marketing works behind the scenes in the rescue to create eye catching fliers for events, as well as dog photos/videos for social websites.  They also maintain communication with many of the other departments for their needs. They are also always brainstorming new marketing ideas to really get the rescue’s name out there!

Medical

The medical team works very closely with the foster team and also the intake team.  The medical team is in charge of staying on top of all of our current dog’s medical needs and ensuring they are up to date on all shots. The medical team also receives and uploads all medical files into Petstablished.

Events and Fundraising

The Events and Fundraising team is where a lot of the excitement happens.  This team is routinely searching for new events in the area for the rescue to make an appearance.  They are also always brainstorming new ways to receive donations from the public. The team is also responsible for keeping an events calendar going, and organizing any events we have planned.  They work very closely with the volunteer coordinator to ensure we have enough volunteers for the events. They also reach out to the marketing team for any fliers they need created.

“Paws on the Dogs”

This is where all the fun happens! If you are wanting to work with dogs, this is the place for you!   Being a part of this team would include bathing dogs, cleaning kennels, walking dogs, working with dogs on their specific needs to help them succeed, and meet and greets. Someone interested in this needs to be dog knowledgable and has experience handling dogs.  Additional training is required in addition to application.
